Dress code

At Drottningholms Slotstteater you are free to wear what you like and feel comfortable in. Please consider that the theatre may be very warm on summer evenings when choosing an outfit.

Restrooms

Restrooms in the theater are limited. There are temporary toilettes next to the theatre, close to the tennis court, on you right hand side from the parking, during the opera performances period. At Karamellan, the restaurant by the water, you will find more restrooms.

Coats and bags

Due to the delicate nature of the theatre as well as the safety of our guests we do not allow any coats, bags, large hand bags or other bulky items in theatre. We offer complimentary and supervised cloakrooms for your belongings during the performance. 

Food and beverages

No food and beverages (including water) are allowed in main part of the theatre. The Déjeuner Salon Bar opens 1,5 hours before the opera performances and offers wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages and lighter food items such as cheese pie, sandwiches and sweets. When you book your tickets you have the option to pre-purchase your interval snacks.
Drottningholms Slottscafé — Karamellan — extends opening hours prior to the performances and offer an à la carte menu. 

Opera introductions

Before our opera performances we offer a pre-performance talk in the Déjeuner Salon one hour before the performance. More information about the talks can be found on the pages for the performance. 

Accessibility

We have two wheelchair spaces reserved to each performance as well as a companion seat next to these. Please book directly with the theatre's box office: +46 8 556 931 05 or biljett@dtm.se
Only manual wheelchairs with normal ground clearance are allowed.
There is an integrated ramp at the main entrance to improve ease of access.

The easiest way to get to Drottningholms Slottsteater is by local transit from Brommaplan. You can easily plan you trip on the SL website. If you arrive by car there is a large parking spot close to the theatre. Traffic on afternoons and early evenings can be heavy, please consider this when planning your trip here. 
One easy way to return to the city after our opera performances is the opera bus. It leaves right next to theatre following our performances and makes stops on Fridhemsplan and the Central Station in central Stockholm. Tickets cost SEK 120 and can be purchased when you book your ticket or in the theatre, pending on availability.

Cameras and recording equipment

Photography as well as video and audio recording is not allowed during our performances. Picture taking is allowed during final applause, but camera flashes or lights are never allowed in the theatre.
