Your visit



Restrooms in the theater are limited du to the age and conservation status of the building. There are more restrooms close to the Drottningholms Slottscafé a mere 150 meters from the theatre entrance. 

Coats and bags

Due to the delicate nature of the theatre as well as the safety of our guests we do not allow any coats, bags or other bulky items in theatre. We offer a complimentary and supervissed coat check where you can safely leave your belongings during the performance. 

Food and beverages

No food and beverages (including water) are allowed in main part of the theatre. The Déjeuner Salon Bar opens two hours before the opera performances and offer the theatre's own white and rosé wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages and lighter food items such as wraps, mini donuts and macarons. When you book your tickets you have the option to pre-purchase beverages and lighter foods for the interval, or a picknick basket for two to enjoy before the performance.
Drottningholms Slottscafé extend their opening hours during performances and offer an á la carte menu. 

Guided tours before evening performances

Before our evening opera performances we offer a special guided tour of the buildning. The tour is held in Swedish and English, starts at 4:30 PM and can be booked when you book your tickets.

Opera introduktions

Before our opera performances we offer an exciting introduction in the Déjeuner Salon which starts one hour before the performance. More information about the introductions can be found on the pages for the performance. 


We have two reserved seats for guests with limitied mobility as well as two companion seats for these. These seats are only bookable through Ticketmaster's callcenter on 077-170 70 70 or directly with the theatre's box office on phone number 08-556 931 05 or
During the spring of 2016 a new staircase with an integrated ramp was constructed to improve ease of access.

The easiest way to get to Drottningholms Slottsteater is by local transit from Brommaplan. You can easily plan you trip on the SL website. If you arrive by car there is a large parking spot close to the theatre. Traffic on afternoons and early evenings can be heavy, please consider this when planning your trip here. 
One easy way to return to the city after our opera performances is the opera bus. It leaves right next to theatre following our performances and makes stops on Fridhemsplan and the Central Station in central Stockholm. Tickets cost SEK 100 and can be purchased when you book your ticket or in the theatre, pending on availability.

Opera and dinner package

Perhaps the most beautiful trip to Drottningholm is by boat. Our partner Strömma offers a great package:

Cameras and recording equipment

Photography as well as video and audio recording is not allowed during our performances. Picture taking is allowed during final applause, but camera flashes or lights are never allowed in the theatre. Dress code

At Drottningholms Slotstteater you are free to wear what you like and feel comfortable in. Many take the opportunity to dress up on premieres but it is all up to you. Please consider that the the theatre may be very warm on summer evenings, so consider this when choosing an outfit. Please also mind that many of our guests can be sensitive to strong scents such as perfumes.
