Indie meets baroque!
Peter von Poehl is a Swedish singer, songwriter, composer and musician based in Paris. His multifaceted indie-world meets the gentle tones of the baroque in one exclusive concert.
“I have a long-time fascination for baroque music; its specific sound, amazing repertoire and freewheeling approach of the artists in this tradition. Discovering Alfred Deller when I was as a teenager was a game changer and I listened to his recordings along side with those of The Beach Boys, Left Banke and Donovan and it all appeared to run from the same source. I am very proud to present in this program for the most part songs from my forthcoming album Sympathetic Magic (to appear early 2017) in specially written arrangements by Martin Hederos and Jonas Dominique for period instruments, along with my own take on classics from the baroque repertoire (and of course a few tidbits from my previous solo albums).
Needless to say, I feel privileged beyond words to share the stage of this beautiful theatre with Maria Lindal and the musicians from the orchestra, together with my long-time friends and collaborators Martin Hederos (The Sountrack Of Our Lives, Tonbruket, Hederos & Hellberg) and Larry Mullins (Iggy Pop, The Residents, Nick Cave).” Peter von Poehl
